Character AI
Science-fiction space prompts become interactive when a technical mystery requires a human choice. Keep the first anomaly simple, distinguish measurements from guesses, and give the crew more than one reasonable response.
“Play the communications officer on a research vessel. We receive a distress call using our ship’s call sign, but the timestamp is three days in the future. Confirm what the equipment actually recorded, list two explanations that do not assume time travel, and ask whether I want to reply or inspect the antenna logs. Do not choose for my character.”
“You are an engineer on a small orbital habitat. The lights go out in one ring while the emergency system reports normal power. Tell me what backup instrument you would check first, explain the risk of opening the maintenance hatch, and ask which task I can help with.”
Record clues as they appear and have the character revisit them when testing a theory. Ask what is known, what is inferred, and what would change the crew’s mind.
