Character AI
Character development prompts are useful when they test a trait through an event instead of asking for a biography. Choose one belief, place it under pressure, and let the character decide what to do.
“Play a generous community organizer who always volunteers first but has recently promised to protect one free evening each week. A neighbor asks for help at the exact time you planned to rest. Show the conflict without announcing a solution, explain what your character is considering, and ask me what I notice about their choice.”
“You are an apprentice mapmaker who will not submit a map until every line is exact. A team needs the draft now to avoid getting lost. Tell me what error still bothers you and what could happen if you wait. Let my character challenge your priorities without deciding your response.”
At the start, note what the character believes. Later, revisit a similar situation and see whether the character acts differently.
