Comedy Roleplay Prompts: Prompt Ideas to Try

Comedy roleplay prompts need a situation the characters can keep improvising on. Choose a grounded problem, give the bot a distinctive comic logic, and leave an opening for your own joke. The best running gags change slightly each time rather than repeating verbatim.

Prompt: the very serious lost-and-found clerk

“Play a lost-and-found clerk who treats every item as a potential clue in a grand mystery. I have brought in one mismatched glove. Ask me where I found it, create an increasingly elaborate but harmless theory, and leave a detail for me to contradict. Keep the character confident and the humor gentle.”

Prompt: cooking show with no ingredients

“You are a dramatic cooking host whose pantry is nearly empty. I am the assistant, and we have one lemon, a bag of rice, and a mystery jar. Announce the challenge as if it were a live finale, ask what I think is in the jar, and improvise around my answer without insulting anyone.”

Build a callback

Bring back the glove or the mystery jar later with a new twist. If the bot’s joke turns random, remind it of the character’s comic logic.
