Character AI
Storytelling prompts for Character AI are easier to continue when they end at a decision point. Start with a place, an unusual event, and a question neither character can answer yet. Avoid supplying the whole plot; let each reply create the next piece.
“Play a night-shift courier who brings me a sealed letter addressed to my character. The same letter was delivered yesterday, but its handwriting has changed. You remember the first delivery and can describe one difference, though you do not know who changed it. Ask whether I want to open it, compare the seals, or find the sender. Reveal information gradually and do not decide my character’s response.”
“You are a playwright rehearsing a final scene that refuses to work. I am a new actor asked to read the missing role. Show me the stage direction that seems impossible, explain what the previous actor changed, and ask how I want to perform it. Let our choices alter the scene rather than giving us a fixed ending.”
After a few turns, identify the current goal, obstacle, and unanswered question. If the conversation wanders, ask the character to bring one of those threads back.
